EDO ELECTION - PASTOR IZE-IYAMU DEFEAT OBASEKI AS HE START WINNING POLLING VOTES


It was a step to victory for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer cruised to a comfortable victory at ward 5, Iguododo community in Orhionwon local government Area. Ize-Iyamu polled 292 votes while Edo current governor, Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got 21 votes. The former Edo chief of staff, who is eyeing the state's most revered stool on the platform of APC, is presently having a tough run with 13 other candidates including Obaseki. Meanwhile, at the Oredo ward 2 polling unit 2 which is the voting place of Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu, wife of APC governorship candidate, APC has 40 votes while PDP won with 109. Osagie Ize-Iyamu has won his polling unit in the ongoing Edo election. Source: UGC Professor Idia is from the same Oredo local government area of Edo state like Godwin Obaseki. She is a registered voter in the unit, meaning she did not vote in the same polling unit with her husband. Earlier, we reported that Obaseki emphatically cruised to victory in his polling unit in the ongoing September 19 gubernatorial election. Obaseki voted during the poll exercise at Emokpae Model School, unit 19, ward 4 in Oredo local government area of Edo state alongside his wife Betsy Obaseki. In unit 24 of the same Oredo ward 4, PDP won with 94 votes, while the APC got 50 votes. In unit 25, PDP got 33 votes ahead of the APC that polled 22 votes.
